Chapter 607: Home in the East Sea
Chapter 607: Home in the East Sea
"Er, are you worried about this?" Lin Kuang looked at Mu Wan with some curiosity. This girl was normally afraid of nothing, yet now she seemed scared. This was a rare sight!
"Wha-what? No! It’s just... it’s our first time meeting, so it’s natural to be a little nervous," Mu Wan said, her face flushing. In truth, she was incredibly nervous. After all, it was her first time meeting the other sisters, and there were five of them. It would be a lie to say she wasn’t.
"Ahem, it’s alright. They’re very nice and gentle. I’m sure they’ll give you a warm welcome. Come on, let’s go inside," Lin Kuang said with a smile, giving Mu Wan’s small hand an encouraging squeeze.
Hearing this, Mu Wan blushed and nodded. "Okay..."
With that, the two got out of the car. Holding Mu Wan’s hand, Lin Kuang walked into the manor with a hint of excitement.
It was Saturday, so the women were home; otherwise, Lin Kuang would have gone straight to their company. He hadn’t told Liu Shilin and the others he was coming back, wanting to give them a surprise.
Entering the manor, Lin Kuang led Mu Wan into the main hall.
It was nearly noon, and all the women were busy preparing lunch.
"Darlings, I’m back!" Lin Kuang couldn’t help but shout as he entered the hall, his voice brimming with excitement.
At that moment, the room fell silent.
A second later, Liu Shilin, the Witch, Yang Ruotong, Yang Ruoxi, and Lin Guo’er all came running out from the kitchen. Five pairs of beautiful eyes snapped toward Lin Kuang.
Seeing them all, Lin Kuang’s heart filled with joy. But the sight of each of them wearing an apron was also quite amusing.
"Are all five of you cooking?" Lin Kuang asked with a laugh as he walked toward them.
"Yes," Liu Shilin replied with a smile, her lovely eyes sparkling with delight.
"Come here, give me a hug," Lin Kuang said with a grin. He hugged each one in turn, even planting a kiss on the corners of their rosy lips, causing all five to blush and look utterly charming.
"Did you miss me?" Lin Kuang asked his women with a beaming smile.
"Nope!" the five declared in unison.
Hearing this, Lin Kuang couldn’t help but roll his eyes. "You heartless bunch. I missed you all to death, and you didn’t even miss me? You’re breaking my heart!" he whined pitifully.
At this, Liu Shilin and the others all rolled their eyes. "As if anyone believes you. So, is this beautiful lady our new sister?" As she spoke, they all turned their gazes to Mu Wan.
Feeling everyone looking at her, Mu Wan’s pretty face turned red, but she managed to speak. "H-hello, everyone. My name is Mu Wan, and I’m Lin Kuang’s... girlfriend."
As she uttered the word "girlfriend," her cheeks turned an even deeper shade of crimson.
"Hehe, Wan’er is one of my women, just like all of you. That’s right, all mine," Lin Kuang declared brazenly, his face a mask of pride.
However, his words had no effect. Liu Shilin and the others completely ignored him, gathering around Mu Wan to chat and introduce themselves.
Seeing this, Lin Kuang felt a little sulky. Those rascals. Just wait and see how I’ll deal with you tonight! he thought fiercely.
Watching the six women chat away enthusiastically, the slightly dejected Lin Kuang could only stand to the side. He lit a cigarette and smoked quietly.
"Wait a minute... does something smell burnt in the kitchen?" Lin Kuang asked, having caught a strange odor.
His words startled the chatting women. A moment later, they all screamed.
"Oh no, my papaya pork ribs!"
"My braised pork!"
Liu Shilin, the Witch, Yang Ruotong, Yang Ruoxi, and Lin Guo’er all cried out as they rushed back into the kitchen.
Instantly, the kitchen erupted with a cacophony of clattering and crashing sounds, as if a battle had just broken out.
Worried for their safety, Lin Kuang quickly went to the kitchen door to check on them. When he got there, he was greeted by a complete mess. Pots and pans were scattered all over the floor, and the five women were scrambling around in a panic.
"Good grief, is this how you all cook? Get out, all of you. Let me handle this," Lin Kuang said, a headache already forming.
Hearing him, the Witch was the first to respond. "Fine, it’s all yours! See if my papaya pork ribs can be salvaged!" With that, she started to leave.
However, as she walked past him, he grabbed her wrist. His expression darkened as he asked, "Wait, you’re the one making the papaya pork ribs?"
"Of course. What about it?" the Witch retorted irritably.
"For heaven’s sake, you can’t be serious. Look at you! Your chest is already the size of papayas, and you’re still eating them? Are you trying to turn them into basketballs?" Lin Kuang asked in disbelief.
Her face instantly flushed beet-red. "I-I am not! You wouldn’t get it, anyway! Just hurry up and check on the food instead of spouting nonsense!" the Witch snapped irritably. I’m only doing this for you, you jerk! Don’t you like them big? Why else would I be trying to enhance my chest?
Of course, the Witch was too embarrassed to say any of this out loud. Perhaps if it were just the two of them she might have, but with so many people around? She wasn’t that bold.
"Alright, alright, I’m going," Lin Kuang said, walking into the kitchen with a resigned sigh.
Seeing this, Lin Guo’er stuck out her tongue and scurried out, followed by a blushing Yang Ruoxi. Only Liu Shilin and Yang Ruotong remained, as their cooking skills were actually quite good.
Lin Kuang got to work. He threw out the burnt food, picked up the fallen pots and pans, and slowly brought order back to the kitchen.
"Ruotong, where’s little Xinxin? Why isn’t she home? It’s the weekend," Lin Kuang asked curiously.
"She’s home. The little one just fell asleep. She’ll probably be out for a while," Yang Ruotong replied with a smile, clearly delighted to see him.
"Oh, I see. I thought the little rascal was at school," Lin Kuang said with a laugh.
"So, how long are you staying this time?" Yang Ruotong asked, her smile lingering.
"I’m not sure. We’ll see. It could be a few days, or it could be a while," Lin Kuang replied after a moment of thought.
Yang Ruotong nodded, secretly hoping he could stay for more than just a few days.
"Lin Kuang, Shiyu’s and Guo’er’s birthdays are coming up. You have to at least stay until after their party, right?" Liu Shilin interjected with a smile.
Hearing this, Lin Kuang paused for a moment before nodding. "Thank goodness you reminded me. I almost forgot."
He admitted this with some embarrassment, breaking into a sweat. If he had forgotten, who knows how Lin Guo’er would have made him pay.
